I am a registered member of the Nutritional Therapists Association of Ireland and an experienced tutor. I run Wellness Courses for the Cork Educational Training Board, Evening Courses in various colleges around Cork and I see clients online and in my private practice in Macroom, Co.Cork.

My Story

Living abroad and growing up as an expatriate kid, I went to international schools where I developed friendships with children of all Nationalities. This enabled me to gain a deep understanding of different cultures, religions and food! There was very little in the way of ultra-processed food in the places where I lived so my mum who is a fantastic cook would make everything from scratch using wholefoods. We didn’t have access to big supermarkets or imported goods all the time so we relied on local and seasonal produce.

I experienced a huge culture shock on returning to live in Ireland when I was a teenager. Going to boarding school, eating school dinners, reduced physical activity and the stress of being away from home took a big toll on my physical and mental health.

When I was 20 I became ill with Glandular Fever. The recovery from Glandular Fever was slow but also transformative. I started my health journey by studying Complementary Health Therapy. I also spent many years working as a Manager in Here’s Health, Cork. As my knowledge of natural health grew I discovered a love for Nutrition. I started to understand the importance of wellness and longevity and how food and lifestyle impacted my own health.

I studied Nutritional Therapy with the Institute of Health Sciences in 2012. During this time I was also diagnosed Coeliac. It took many visits to the doctor, three false negative blood tests and a colonoscopy to finally get diagnosed. Once I removed gluten from my diet my energy returned, my bloating and digestive discomfort was gone, my mood improved and my PMT became manageable!

I graduated as a Nutritional Therapist in 2016 and spent 5 years working as a Unit Leader, Personal Tutor and Lecturer for The Institute of Health Sciences. Education is a powerful driver to effect change and I am very passionate about it. I  have my own private practice in Macroom where I see clients with a variety of health issues. I have a particular interest in Autoimmunity and Cardiometabolic health. I undertake CPD to keep up with the changes in my field.

I’m a mum of two fantastic little girls and I am happiest when in the kitchen cooking up delicious food for my family or spending time in in nature with my girls, husband and various pets.
